According to fans who started their journey on the Nintendo mobile console, No Mans Sky works well on the Switch. Even though the Switch port of the game received positive reviews, the No Mans Sky 4.0 update came with mixed reviews.
No one complains about the new difficulty options, the QOL updates or the visual improvement that keeps making No Mans Sky an absolutely amazing game. However, the change in the inventory leaves the fans dissatisfaction.
The inventory upgrade significantly boosted the players’ carrying capacity, but was reduced in the total opportunity for new technologies. Prior to the Update 4.0, players only could carry three Advanced Technology Upgrades in a number of digits or in the Computer-Exchange Stock. The shared inventory was removed after updating 4.0, so that it would be better able to store the latest technological resources and use some more space for transportation, but players couldn’t double the number of upgrades in the shared inventory.
The players’ attitude has gone a bit more weaker than expected. With six-plus technology shield upgrades, players may become virtually invulnerable, and with the right combination of weapon upgrades, they may take down pirates without charge. In version 4.0, this isn’t the case anymore, and even though there are more advanced options for players to maintain their sense of invincibility without these technical improvements, there are many unlucky travelers. Some fans are calling for the inventory system to return to the best of the days before update 4.0.
More than half of the reviews on Steam since Friday’s update have been negative, with inventory overhaul being the most common complaint. Some have even started sending threats to Hello Games, which is just a sign of a decline from the kind of mail that No Mans Sky normally receives.
Not everybody thinks that inventory changes are bad, but many even think the player if upgraded is still quite strong. Hello Games is very likely to have noticed a fix for the recent bug. So expect it to be another few minutes before the problem is resolved.
