It’s a fine week over at the OGA Dota PIT Invitational, where they have hooked up several promising participants for the tournament. Most notably, it’s the International 10 (TI10) invitees that are the talk of the town as we anticipate incredible matches from them.
The OGA Dota PIT Invitational also features an unconventional tournament format, whereby it’s straight to the playoffs for the eight teams. Matches are double-elimination best-of-three format, so the OGA Dota PIT Invitational will kick off the upper bracket matches on September 6.
Let’s go over the four opening duels and set our expectations for the event. The odds in today’s selection are courtsey of Buff.bet.
PSG.LGD vs Team Undying
We kickstart the event with a one-sided match between PSG.LGD and Undying.
For starters, PSG.LGD is not only a TI10 invitee but also the highest-ranked team on the Dota Pro Circuit 2021 (DPC 2021). Dominating two consecutive majors has established the Chinese team as a formidable powerhouse. On the other hand, Undying, despite securing a TI10 ticket too, falls short in terms of recent achievements.
Undying spots a reliable line-up consisting of veteran players, such as David “MoonMeander” Tan Boon Yang and Kim “DuBu” Doo-young. They are no stranger in the competitive scene, hence we can expect a decent fight at least.
Regardless, the odds are just too heavily favored towards PSG.LGD being the major champions they were. PSG.LGD at x1.26 against Team Undying at a whopping x3.74 odds. I would recommend going all in for a 2-0 in favor of LGD, for a sweet x1.94 payout.
T1 vs Team Spirit
Another highly-anticipated match between regional giants follows up the opener. T1 has been exceptionally phenomenal after they pull off a second runner-up win at WePlay AniMajor. Whereas Team Spirit’s recent debut at the major and qualifying for TI10 have been celebrated by CIS fans.
Fortunately, we have a better analysis of the duo after their recent encounter at ESL One Fall 2021. In which, Team Spirit took a unanimous victory over T1, but many fans debated that T1 was sloppy since update 7.30 went live two days before the match.
Because of the tainted loss, T1’s odds are relatively even versus Team Spirit despite T1 being the heavy favorite in most matches. The odds are even at x1.89 and x1.83 returns on BUFF.bet Esports betting platform.
I would propose going for a 3 map series at x1.93 for over 2.5 maps played.
Fnatic vs Thunder Predator
Fnatic is undeniably the favorite here, as its Dota 2 odds reflect similarly as well.
The team is oozing with dumbfound potential despite being a no-show in two consecutive majors this season. For what it’s worth, they somehow managed to recoup from their downhill performance to defeating their Filipino rival, TNC Predator.
Thunder Predator, despite gaining some hype for placing sixth at Singapore Major, was absolutely obsolete in recent performances. Hence, it’s only fitting that the Dota 2 odds favor Fnatic at x1.47 versus Thunder Predator at x2.55 odds. Regardless of the precedent expectations, it would still be a thrill to watch firsthand what our TI10 participants are capable of. In terms of scoreline, a 2-0 for Fnatic at x2.53 seems logical.
Tundra Esports vs SG esports
Finally, the fourth series on Day 1 is between Tundra Esports and SG esports. Sure, the two teams didn’t qualify for the International 10, nor are they renowned team brands. However, on an Esports betting perspective, there are good odds to consider for multi-fold flip in profit.
SG Esports usually do not garner much attention, yet quietly and consistently place amongst the top teams in South America . It’s a team that’s on the road towards becoming a pretty decent line-up after their ESL One Fall 2021 performance. The event group back there had a credible number of strong powerhouses, notably beastcoast, Team Liquid, PSG.LGD and Alliance. Yet, the young underdogs were able to tie most series, so they aren’t too shabby, all things considered. Meanwhile, Tundra Esports is a much more seasoned team on paper even without TI10 invitee status, they can give many EU opponents a run for their money.
SG esports has the short stick of the odds at x4.55 against Tundra Esports at an x1.17 returns. But, considering the rising South American scene, perhaps this match might pique your interest after all. We are looking at a potential 3 game series at x2.45
