Polish game developer People Can Fly, known for last year’s looter-shooter Outriders is expanding its horizons by announcing that it intends to release games annually starting in 2024. In a press release published on its website (spotted by Wccftech), the company states its intent to develop multiple AA and AAA games in the coming years.
“The updated Group strategy envisages the following: (i) expanding the portfolio of games developed by the Group to include AA games which, while characterized by a shorter development time, lower budget and smaller scope, will have quality comparable to Triple-A games; (ii) developing AAA and AA games in new genres, not previously explored by the Group; and (iii) soliciting new development team or teams or acquiring game development studios in the new areas of the Group’s activity, that is in the new AA segment and the genres other than shooters and action games with RPG elements.”
People Can Fly has been expanding its team for the better part of the last year, even though the team was unaware about the metrics of Outriders’ success with Xbox Game Pass. Regardless, the studio is working on at least three big games, one of which is planned to be self-published by the developer itself.
By expanding its team with at least 7 external studios at the moment, it’s not a surprise to see the developer set its eyes on an annual release model, similar to studios like Ubisoft which works on multiple franchises at once.
Outriders is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass for console.
