Overwatch 2 Has Hit 25 Million Players in 10 Days

Overwatch 2 has launched, changing the meta to 5v5 and the entire setup to a new free-to-play model. With the multiplayer shooter available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch – the game has attracted over 25 million players since launch.

“The launch of Overwatch 2 has been such an important moment for Blizzard. We’re thrilled to bring new players from around the world into Overwatch’s vibrant universe while welcoming back the existing Blizzard community,” said Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment. “This is only the beginning—there are so many possibilities to explore in the world of Overwatch, and we cannot wait for players to experience everything the team is building for the live game.”

Of course, the launch itself has not been without issues – from server attacks to queues and other things cropping up. With Overwatch 2 introducing new maps and modes and launching with new support hero Kiriko – Blizzard confirms that she has been a popular addition to the game with her Kitsune Rush ultimate ability being unleashed over two million times.

With the free-to-play seasonal model in full swing, players will get an all-new Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary skin and a Health Pack Weapon Charm if they log in from October 25 until the ends of Season One. As a nice little thank you. On top of that double match XP weekends have been confirmed for October 21, October 28, and November 24.
