‘Overwatch 2’ PC System Requirements Explained

Overwatch 2 is almost here, at long last. Folks who are interested in diving into the game on PC may want to know what the system requirements are. Look no further, because I’ve got you covered.

It’s worth noting that Blizzard hasn’t updated the specs on its site since the second Overwatch 2 beta. It’s unclear if any of the specs have changed since then, but if they have, I’ll update this story as soon as I can.

Anyway, here’s the good news: you won’t need a very powerful rig to play Overwatch 2. As it stands, the minimum system requirements are as follows:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 or AMD Phenom X3 8650
  • Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 600 series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Storage: 50 GB available hard drive space
  • Internet: Broadband internet connection
  • Resolution: 1024 x 768 minimum resolution

The major thing that’s changed from Overwatch 1 (and the first Overwatch 2 beta) is the fact that the game will not run on Windows 7 or 8.

Meanwhile, here’s what’s different about the recommended specs for Overwatch 2 compared with the game’s minimum requirements:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 5
  • Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 600 series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM

Again, not the most demanding specs in the world. As long as you have a decent mid-range PC and a solid internet connection, Overwatch 2 should run like a dream.

However, if you have a particularly powerful rig, you might be in for a treat.

Blizzard has bumped up the framerate cap from 400 frames per second in the original game to an obscene 600 fps in Overwatch 2. Check out a video of the game running on a new GeForce RTX 4090 GPU:
