Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will launch into Xbox Game Pass in January, and it’s now been confirmed that the ports will run natively on Xbox Series X|S instead of relying on backwards compatibility.
Earlier this week, developer and publisher Atlus announced that Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will join Xbox Game Pass in January when the ports launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Now, according to Gematsu, Atlus has confirmed that both games will run natively on Xbox Series X|S consoles.
Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will be Xbox Series X|S native
“Finally got a response about this,” Gematsu’s tweet says. “The Xbox Series versions of P4G / P3P are native!” The response relates to a previous tweet from Gematsu that said the firm had reached out to Atlus asking “if the Xbox Series version was native or just playable through backward compatibility.” Note, there isn’t any mention of the PlayStation 5 in the question, so this isn’t confirmation that a current-gen port isn’t also heading to that console as well. We still have a fair amount of time before we see Persona 3 and 4 launch on Xbox, so an announcement could still be on the way for PS5.
If you’re ready to experience some Person goodness this side of 2023, Persona 5 Royal is coming to Game Pass on October 21st and includes all of its DLC packs. Atlus previously confirmed that the game will run at 60fps on Xbox Series X|S via a recent gameplay video.
