Phil Spencer still wishes Final Fantasy 14 on Xbox 360

While Xbox users can play a lot of titles in Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy XIV is free to PlayStation and PC. In 2019, the Xbox boss noted he wanted to see the MMO get promoted on the Xbox, but it hasn’t been much simpler for 3 years. Well, it seems like he hasn’t forgotten his earlier remarks. Game Watch recently asked Spencer to consider the possibility that Final Fantasy XIV will be finally introduced into Xbox. While Spencer did not offer anything concrete, he did provide a little hope to those who still want it to happen.

She said the word “Laughs”. Naturally, we haven’t yet given up. This is a commitment that Microsoft and Square Enix are both on to the gamers and we’ll continue to work together,” says Spencer.

Final Fantasy XIV has been around quite a long time, but the game has been big enough, due in part to the high-profile streamers on Twitch. For a while, interest really became too much for Square Enix, forcing the publisher to temporarily stop new purchases for the game. The weather has just kept going, but an Xbox port could certainly mean a lot more players checking out the game.

In addition, Square Enix had prepared a 10-year roadmap for Final Fantasy XIV earlier this year. Therefore, the company didn’t have any plans to stop supporting it anytime soon. Of course, that roadmap didn’t include plans for Xbox, but it could certainly change at a moment. For now, console fans will have to wait for the moment the situation gets changed, and if Spencer and Square Enix are able to make it happen there or not. Final Fantasy XIV is now available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The reader can check out all of our previous coverage here.

Do you want a Final Fantasy XIV port? Do you think that game will ever get onto Microsoft’s platform?
