Sony PlayStation announced a new program called the Development Hardware Loan Program on Tuesday. The program will offer free developers a PS5/serial version and a platform test kit.
In a statement on the official website of SIE, Greg Rice explained that the initiative is part of the Japanese giants’ efforts to lower the barriers of entry and improve the publishing process.
We always work harder to get the entry barriers to a printed book and improve it’s volume. We’ll announce a new initiative in a few days. It’ll make it easier for new partners to jump in and develop for PlayStation. To register the new licensing scheme, you must be eligible to receive the first and final product of PS3, both on or off the main floor.
Sony has never confirmed this yet, but this may be the PS5 devkit.
That might be the impetus for the developers to start on the gaming market. Stray and SIFU, for example, are of independent studios who know whether there will be even more experiences in this level available on PlayStation, don’t you think?
As part of the competition, the potential partner must fulfill the conditions that are available at this link.
PlayStation released two indie games early in July.
Taking into account that the PS4 and PS5 will be announced in early July of the year, then later in the year. On occasion, names such as Sea of the Stars, Cult of the Lamb, Inscription and many others were mentioned.
