It looks like America has pledged to do something about the supply issues plaguing gamers.
PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles have seemed almost impossible to get since November and people have been waiting to get a console.
Well according to NBC News, President Joe Biden signed an executive order yesterday requiring a review of the global supply chains in key industries in an effort to boost domestic production and avoid shortages in critical goods amid the coronavirus pandemic.
It was spurred on by the global semiconductor shortage which has been plaguing the world and many countries including the UK.
The 100-day review will assess vulnerabilities and areas for improvement of supply chains for four areas: pharmaceuticals, rare earth minerals, semiconductor chips and large-capacity batteries.
President Biden said: “This is about making sure that the United States can meet every challenge we face in this new era”.
“The best way to do that is by protecting and sharpening America’s competitive edge by investing here at home.”
Meanwhile MPs in the UK have been attempting to bring in laws to stop scalping in the country.
Scottish National Party MP Douglas Chapman brought forward the Gaming Hardware (Automated Purchase and Resale) Bill 2019-21.
The bill is currently being prepared for publication but no date has yet been set for the second reading and debate in the Commons.
