It seems like September’s free PlayStation Plus games have been leaked, and it’s not shaping up to be a phenomenal month for the service either. The leaked list of games comes from a poster on the forums of Dealabs. As for why the leaked list seems to hold any substance, the original poster on the forums has reportedly verified their claims to the moderation team, which is why the post has not been removed.
Here are the alleged list of games headed to September’s PS Plus lineup:
- Hitman 2 (PS4)
- Predator: Hunting Grounds (PS4)
- Overcooked! All You Can Eat (PS5)
The addition of Predator: Hunting Grounds seems to make the most sense here, as the game was published by Sony at launch on both PC and PS4. The game didn’t exactly manage to get a passionate player base under it, releasing to mixed reviews. Predator Hunting Grounds is a co-op multiplayer game set within the universe of the Predator franchise. It being included as part of PS Plus could be a nice way to breathe new life into the game.
The other games on the list seem to be good candidates for PS Plus. Hitman 3 recently released as a launch title for PS5, so it’s a little too soon to give it away for free. Hitman 2, while a little old by now, offers a great experience on PS5 running at 60fps with a resolution of 1440p (under backwards compatibility). Overcooked! All You Can Eat is a remastered bundle including both Overcooked games with online multiplayer.
It should be noted that PlayStation usually reveals its lineup of free PS Plus games within a couple of days before the new month starts, so the leaked lineup should be confirmed within a day or two. As for why the leaked list seems to hold any substance, the original poster on the forums has reportedly verified their claims to the moderation team, which is why the post has not been removed.
PlayStation Plus is a monthly subscription service offering the ability to backup game saves on the cloud, exclusive discounts on games and three free games per month. Its annual subscription price is currently discounted by 50% for new accounts, making it a good time for new users to jump in.
