The Golden Joystick Awards 2021 has awarded Sony’s PS5 the gong for Best Gaming Hardware, fending off competition from the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch OLED among others.
Here’s the full nominations for this year’s Best Gaming Hardware award, so you can see just how much competition PS5 had to fight off.

The PS5 is still not readily available worldwide due to ongoing shortages for semiconductors, resulting in fewer consoles being manufactured and shipped to retailers. The Xbox Series X/S is also experiencing similar issues,
Despite this, Sony announced recently that the PS5 has shipped 13.4 million units worldwide, so the console has been a huge success so far despite being hard to get hold of.

The PS5 was released in November 2020 in the US, UK, Europe, and other major regions, and promptly sold out pretty much everywhere.
