A new patent filed by Sony hints that PS5 games could be coming to the PS Now streaming service.
Currently, the service, a competitor to Xbox Game Pass streaming, only allows gamers to stream PS4 games or older.
However, a report from DualShockers has revealed that this could change in the foreseeable future.

They note that PS Now was envisioned as a streaming-first platform which has resulted in Sony refusing to add PS5 games to the service, only making an exception for a select few titles such as the widely-popular Red Dead Redemption 2.
Furthermore, the way Sony organises its digital licences has resulted in downloadable PS4 games being excluded from free PS5 upgrades due to the newest gen not being available on the platform.
The patent, which was filed by Sony in April, was for ‘‘Ultra High-Speed Low-Latency Network Storage’ – on the surface, this doesn’t seem that significant, however, the patent describes using the same hard drives used on the PS5 to be compatible for streaming purposes.
This system patented by Sony would allow for content to be stored and switched between multiple drives – this would also allow for reliable content streaming to a local console.
If this system was integrated into PS Now, it would allow for PS5 games to be streamed remotely.
It also opens the possibility of PS Now receiving an upgrade similar to Xbox Game Pass which already allows Xbox Series X games to be streamed.
