Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Was February 2021’s Bestselling Game in the United States
As announced via Mat Piscatella of the NPD Group today, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury was the bestselling game in the United States during the month of February 2021. This is particularly noteworthy since Nintendo does not disclose digital sales data, meaning it managed to take the number one spot on physical sales alone. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a Nintendo Switch re-release of the Wii U platformer that originally launched in 2013.

PS5 Is Currently the Fastest-Selling Console in U.S. History
In the same NPD results, Piscatella also revealed that PlayStation 5 is now the fastest-selling console in the United States in terms of dollar sales. It was the second-bestselling console of February 2021, trailing only Nintendo Switch, which continues to dominate the sales charts — not just in the U.S., but worldwide. Since the PS5’s release, it has been difficult to find, and when it does appear at retailers, it sells out in minutes.
US NPD HW – PlayStation 5 ranked as the 2nd best-selling hardware platform in February in both unit and dollar sales. PlayStation 5 is currently the fastest selling hardware platform in U.S. history (total dollar sales after 4 months in market).
