Valkyrie Profile: Laneth was originally a PS1 (and later PSP) title that is being ported to PS5 and PS4. It is also included as part of the Deluxe Edition of Valkyrie Elysium, and was set to release on the same day. Unfortunately, with the action RPG only a week or so away from launch, the Laneth port has been hit with a delay. This suggests something went wrong at the last minute, but at least it should mean players aren’t getting a potentially broken version of the game.
In order to “improve the quality” of Laneth, Square Enix is pushing back its release date to December 22, 2022. The publisher clarifies that those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of Elysium from the PlayStation Store will still be entitled to Laneth when it drops. On its new December date.
A bit of a shame, but then again, we’re sure it’s better if Llaneth Port has run into trouble. Did you grab the deluxe edition? Were you excited to play Laneth with Elysium? Look for fallen warriors in the comments section below.
