PS5 stock drop this week? Latest Amazon, GAME PlayStation 5 restock news | Gaming | Entertainment

The next PS5 restock in the UK was expected this week, but recent supply issues could see further delays.

An earlier post from the PS5 Stock UK Twitter account – a reliable tracker account – suggested that Amazon UK and John Lewis could be ready to drop its latest shipment starting on September 1.

Since then, a new update has been added that suggests that there could be delays during September.

The latest post from the trusted account reads: “John Lewis expects to receive a shipment of PlayStation 5 consoles around the 20th of September, indicating a possible restock either the end of September or early October.

“We can see there’s a very clear pattern of shipment issues across the industry with all retailers, causing the delays we’re seeing all over.

“Nothing specific on the reason, but if/once there is, we’ll let you know.”

Adding earlier: “We expect demand to rise drastically after September due to students returning to education and employees returning back to work (those who are on holiday).”

So while there could be a new PS5 stock drop in the UK this week, the chances have dropped.

And this means that gamers could be waiting longer than expected for those thousands of consoles that were expected in September.

Technically, there is still time for a PS5 restock at Amazon UK, Smyths, Scan and AO before the end of the week on September 3.

And if anything does drop, gamers are being warned that it will happen in the morning, between 8am BST and 12pm BST.

GAME is another retailer that has been linked to a PS5 restock this month but more news isn’t expected until around September 9.

There is a good chance that GAME will drop more consoles this month but until we learn more, the current date remains a prediction for now.

Demand remains very high for next-gen consoles, with Microsoft and Sony struggling to keep up with consumers globally.

The current situation isn’t expected to improve during 2021 and it could take until 2022 before normal service has resumed.

So far, Sony has confirmed selling 10 million units globally, hitting the milestone on July 18.

Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.

And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.

GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 stock is expected in September.

AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. More stock is expected in early September.
