PS5 stock UK: Earliest Argos, Game, Very PlayStation 5 restock date revealed | Gaming | Entertainment

According to new reports out this week, May will bring new PS5 stock to UK gamers.

April was disappointing for console hunters, with only a few retailers offering deals on minimal restock options.

And the good news is that while there have been a ton of stock delays in the UK, May should see thousands of PS5 consoles made available from several retailers.

A shortlist of stores have been shared that are expected to receive stock drops over the coming weeks, with Very, Argos and GAME topping it.

And based on what has been revealed, it looks like we have the earliest date for when the first restocks could happen.

This could be split between at least two different dates, which will include delayed units from April.

And other storefronts are also expected to see refreshes, including Amazon and Very.

These are unlikely to be the only UK retailers offering PS5 consoles during May, so gamers will want to keep an eye on all the leading stores, including Currys, Smyths and John Lewis.

Based on Tweets from PS5 Instant, the earliest PS5 stock update could happen on Tuesday, May 4, and include Argos.

However, Very is also reportedly getting PlayStation 5 stock in early May, followed by the likes of Amazon and GAME.

Tweets from PS5 Instant – a reliable stock tracker account – shared these reports in late April: “PS5 UK Stock won’t release this Monday. Very shipment arriving soon.

“PS5 UK stock looks promising; Argos has record number stock. May PS5 UK Shipment biggest yet. Major retailers receiving more stock than ever! Make sure scalpers make a loss.

“Currently looking at PS5 restocks at GAME & Argos between 10-17th May. GAME is receiving 25k units and stock twice next month.”

However, while we have a new early date for the first PlayStation 5 stock update, that doesn’t mean things will be kicking off early.

The week of May 10 could be the start of another wave, with both Amazon and GAME expected to offer bundle options.

Others are expected to follow, but it’s unclear at this point how many units will be included.

As usual, gamers will need to take this latest news with a pinch of salt until something official is announced.

PlayStation 5 consoles remain highly sought after, and even with several large stock drops expected in May, it’s unlikely that supply will keep up with demand.

Gamers have been warned several times that it could be months before there are enough next-gen consoles to go around, meaning some in the UK will be waiting until Summer.

However, other recent reports suggest that it could take longer, meaning problems could continue into the busy November season.

Knowing that more PlayStation stock is coming is important, but console hunters should also know the best ways to get stock from each platform.

Here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.

GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. GAME is currently expected to get its next major restock during May 2021.

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings. Argos is not expected to receive any more stock until May 3.
