The first weekend in October is expected to be a quiet time for PS5 restock news in the UK, but the rest of October could be much more exciting.
The last few days have seen substantial PlayStation stock drops from Argos, GAME and Amazon.
And while most have now ended, there is one tip gamers might want to try out this weekend.
According to PS5 Stock Alert UK – a reliable stock tracker account hosted on Twitter – Argos might still have some stock in-store.
It will be worth phoning up your local store just to double-check, with the stock tracker account telling its followers this week:
“Website & app sales weren’t amazing (still in stock), although there was some success, so well done to those individuals.
“However, some Twitter followers and Discord members are telling me they’ve visited their local store and purchased one that way, so, definitely worth a try.”
There could also be smaller stock drops during the weekend from places like Scan, Studio and AO.
Currys is another retailer hosting stock events this month, with the next expected to start around October 20.
However, it should be noted that Currys uses a VIP ticketing system, meaning you would’ve needed to have already been selected to receive a console to have a chance at picking one up in-store.
And more news is expected to be shared regarding the next PS5 stock drops shortly, with accounts like PS5 Stock Alert UK expected to share its latest round of predictions before Monday.
These need to be taken with a pinch of salt as there can be last-minute delays and changes on the part of the retailers mentioned.
But many of these tips end in restock events that everyone can log into across the UK.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 stock is expected in October.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. PS5 consoles are currently sold out.
Sony’s PlayStation 5 console range remains in high demand around the world and are expected to stay in short supply throughout the rest of 2021, and possibly for most of 2022.
