PS5 UK stock today: Latest restock news from AO, Game, John Lewis, Currys, Argos, Amazon and more

Well done to anyone who managed to successfully get the console into their basket using the AO Google Chrome trick. We know, it wasn’t easy. If you didn’t, fear not. Several bundles are still in stock at Game.

The earliest Game PS5 dispatch date is Friday 7 January.

While we still haven’t officially seen the new PS5 VR headset, we know that it’s already being roadshowed at a few secret developer conferences.

During a developer summit in August, Sony revealed new controllers that will allegedly be able to tell where a user’s hands are, and how far away they are placed from the buttons. It also detailed the way it would release games for the next-gen headset.

The PS5 is now in stock at AO, but you have to tinker with the site’s code to get it into your basket. This is a workaround to bypass the paused orders message.

In Chrome, copy the standalone console’s product code “P5HEHWSNY70989”.

Right click on the green “add to basket” button and select “inspect element”, then in the window that pops up on the side of your screen replace the vacuum’s product code with the PS5 product code you’ve just copied. It’s the series of numbers and letters that immediately follows “data-productcode=”.

It takes a bit of work, but if you have the persistence, it’s worth it because free next day delivery is available.

Currys used to use a horrible VIP pass draw system to dish out consoles to its customers in a fair way. It sounded great in theory, but not great in practice. It essentially meant that anyone hunting for the console after the month of June literally weren’t able to get a PS5 from the retailer at all.

And that’s because it closed the pass draw to new entrants that month, but continued to send out invitations to buy the console all the way up to 2 December.

Thankfully, that system has been done away with now and it’s never been easier to bag a PS5 from Currys. The retailer has had a whopping seven drops this month, with the latest restock taking place yesterday.

If you’ve got the disc edition console, all that blood, sweat and tears finishing those campaigns won’t have gone to waste because you will be able to insert your PS4 discs and play them on the PS5 just fine. Only PS4 games bought on the PlayStation Store will work on the digital edition console, however. Why? After six days, the PS5 is still in stock at Game. The retailer dropped consoles on 23 December and it has remained in stock ever since then. We have a sneaking suspicion that it’s remained in stock so long because of it’s lengthy wait time. Most pre-orders won’t be dispatched until 21 January.

Want it sooner? Bundles at Game can also be pre-ordered with the retailer’s priority insured delivery method. You have to pay £19.99, but your order will be dispatched next week on Friday 7 January, and you will get a replacement console and £50 in compensation if your PS5 is lost in transit.
