PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 seemingly spotted on PSN, hinting at imminent release

The PlayStation 5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 has seemingly been spotted in the PlayStation network backend, suggesting that the long-awaited new-gen release could be soon.

That’s according to @PlayStationSize, a Twitter account that monitors the install size of upcoming games.

On Sunday the account tweeted a new key art image for Cyberpunk 2077, which appears to be a new cover image for the PlayStation 5 version of the game.

Searching the image online returns no results, which may point to this being the image that will appear on the dashboard for the next-generation version of the game.

In November, CD Projekt said the new-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 were “on track” to meet their launch windows.

The new-gen editions of the games were originally scheduled to release in 2021, but in October the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were delayed to 2022, with the former due in the first quarter and the latter in the second quarter.

Reporting its quarterly financial results in November, CD Projekt said both releases “are on track to meet their target dates”.

The new version of Cyberpunk 2077 will be available as a standalone release and as a free next-gen upgrade for players who own the current-gen editions.

The new-gen edition of Witcher, which is being developed externally by Saber Interactive, will include DLC items inspired by the Netflix series.

It will be released as a standalone purchase for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, and as a free update for players who already own the game on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
