Announced by EA in a blog post, Xbox players will soon be able to download The Sims 4
base game for free, starting from October 18th. To celebrate, those who already own the base game can claim The Sims 4 Desert Luxe Kit. The Sims 4 also happens to be a quick completion, so if you’re after some free and easy Gamerscore, you’ll be able to nab 1,000G in under three hours next month.

The Sims 4 will soon be free to download and keep

“We’re excited to continue to welcome in more players than ever to create new stories, and explore without boundaries,” EA said. “The Sims has always been about celebrating new ways to play and offers so many possibilities to discover. Beginning on October 18th, 2022, The Sims 4 base game will be available to all new players to download for free on PC via EA app or Origin, Mac via Origin, Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One systems.”

If you’ve already purchased the base game, you can claim The Sims 4 Desert Luxe kit from the main menu for free up until October 17th. This kit includes various indoor and outdoor furniture pieces that have been “inspired by the natural landscape of the Southwestern desert.”

What’s more, EA says that “EA Play and EA Play Pro members will receive an upgraded experience when member-only bundles of The Sims 4 go into The Play List on October 18th. The Sims 4 EA Play Edition includes The Sims 4 Get To Work Expansion Pack, while the EA Play Pro Edition includes both The Sims 4 Get To Work Expansion Pack and The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff Pack.” Presumably, this applies to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members too.

The Sims 4 can be completed in under three hours using the game’s built-in gallery feature. We do have a The Sims 4 achievement walkthrough, but looking at the walkthrough’s forum, it appears that some of it might be out of date. There are, however, numerous individual achievement guides available.
