Relief for Xbox Series X Users as a Critical Issue Looks Set to be Addressed

If you play Xbox Series S/X games using the Xbox headset attached, then you’ll know the pain of connecting your headset to a TV and getting the sound coming from an external speaker. It keeps playing till you mute it manually. But now, thankfully Microsoft is planning to address this issue. Relief for all the Xbox Series X owners as the company is finally fixing the strangest issue with the next update.

On PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, headphone users can mute the TV. There is an additional option to mute it. In fact, players can also choose to automatically mute it whenever they connect the headphones. However, for some unknown reasons, you cannot do this automatically on Xbox Series S and X. Rather, when players connect their headset to their TV, external audio is produced by the TV speaker.

This means that the only way to stop this is by manually muting the TV, of course, not that ideal solution. This causes a lot of issues for Xbox consoles who use headphones.

However, the issue on Xbox consoles can be easily fixed manually, but it still requires further input in a process that should be automatic. It’s a basic, simple feature, and PlayStation 5 players have been using it for a long time now. And it’s pretty annoying that Xbox owners have been missing it for a year now.

In the recent official blog post, Microsoft listed down all the new features landing with Xbox insiders. According to the post, now Players will be able to mute the TV external audio automatically.

It is pretty weird that how Xbox overlooked this serious matter for approximately a year. But now the company is finally addressing the issue. The upcoming update on the console will simply fix this strange issue on the Xbox. Above all, from now on, Series S/X owners can enjoy the automatic mute feature.
