RePlay Gaming to bring unique space to downtown Martinsburg for entertainment | Journal-news

MARTINSBURG — In an effort to provide a unique source of entertainment in downtown Martinsburg, RePlay Gaming will be bringing a gaming atmosphere featuring e-sports leagues to Queen Street in the coming weeks.

Young business partners Cheyenne Kesecker, Klayton Richards and Zane Winter are passionate about this new project and are excited to share it with the community.

Set to open in the coming weeks, RePlay Gaming will provide fun for all ages and experiences, including gaming, as well as host tournaments, featuring Super Smash Bros. first, that will take place weekly.

“Since the day we moved in, so many people stop in and ask what is going into the space,” Kesecker said.

The team of entrepreneurs shared that the idea to create the business came from a spark of inspiration and the desire to have more entertainment in the area.

“The idea came up in conversation one night. We are all gamers, and we wanted to provide something else to do. When we would get together and want to do something fun, it is always, ‘What can we do in Hagerstown or Winchester?’’’ Richards explained. “We wanted to bring something here for people to do.”

They said that it was important for them to stay in the Martinsburg area, because they all grew up in or around there.

“We wanted to stay in the area, because it is our community, but it does need more entertainment and things to do,” Kesecker said. “It is such a great feeling when you have such a supportive community. It has really changed since I was a kid. It feels safer to be here.”

A gaming center offering the newest gen consoles, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch, every desktop tower at RePlay Gaming was built by Richards and Winter.

With a comfortable, cozy and low-lit atmosphere, the space is for families, kids, teens and groups of friends. Kesecker said that the experience of starting the business and having everything come to fruition feels unreal.

“With this being so new to the area, we did have a little bit of letdown from people. Jamie Lopez and his team really came in and had our back. They thought it would be great for the community,” she said.

When the center officially opens, it will be open from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. RePlay Gaming will operate based on memberships and hourly playing.

To play, it will be $8 an hour for nonmembers. Members pay a $5 fee per month, but then, the hourly rate for members is $7, with the option of paying post-game.

“It is a place for people to unwind,” she added.

RePlay Gaming is located at 205 N. Queen St. in Martinsburg. For updates to learn more, visit the RePlay Gaming Facebook page.
