Resident Evil Village will receive a demo on both PlayStation 5 and PS4, granting you access to the village area and the castle — both locations we’ve seen during gameplay footage. Players on PS5 and PS4 have an eight-hour window over the course of two weekends where they can play the demo early. Pre-load for the demo will go live later today on the PS Store.
The first part, situated in the village area, takes place overnight and depends entirely on what part of the world you’re from. US players will be granted access from 5pm PDT on Saturday 17th April through to 1am PDT and European users can play starting 6pm BST / 7pm CEST on Sunday 18th April. Again, you’ll have an eight-hour timeslot in which to take your 30-minute session.
Then, one week later, Capcom opens up access to the castle part of the demo. For US players, this takes place on Saturday 24th April at 5pm PDT through until 1am PDT. EU users gain access on 25th April at 6pm BST / 7pm CEST. You will once again have 30 minutes to play.
Each of these two demos will last for 30 minutes and allow you to explore the corresponding areas as you please. Finally, these two sections of the demo come together in early May when you can play the same two sequences back to back in a 60-minute demo. It’s all the same content, just to be clear. This final demo takes place on 1st May for US players and 2nd May for UK and EU users. It will stick around for exactly 24 hours.
