The PC version of Resident Evil Village is currently unplayable for some users following the release of the game’s latest update.

Publisher Capcom acknowledged on Monday that a new patch is causing the title to crash for some players.

“We’re aware of an ongoing issue with the latest patch that’s causing the game to crash for some users,” it tweeted. “We’re currently looking into a fix, and apologize for any inconvenience caused!”

Resident Evil Village Gold Edition – Mercenaries Trailer

Capcom is scheduled to hold a Resident Evil Showcase this month, although it has yet to confirm a date. The presentation will include new information on Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and the Resident Evil 4 remake.

Set for release on October 28, Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will include the base game with three major new features, which will also be released separately as Winters’ Expansion.

It will include a third-person mode, allowing players to see the protagonist Ethan as they play instead of playing in a first-person perspective.

The expansion will also include new story DLC called Shadows of Rose, which can only be played in third-person mode.

And an update to Mercenaries mode called Additional Orders will introduce new playable characters including Chris Redfield, Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu.

A cloud version of Resident Evil Village will also be released for Switch on October 28. Cloud versions of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 will be released for Nintendo’s console later this year too.

Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake will be released on March 24, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
