Sony Playstation 5 :
Returnal, the ambitious new action adventure from Housemarque, will be released in Spain on April 30th and be the first exclusive game to receive Playstation 5 this year, something that is not by chance, as they have explained to us Mikael Haveri Y Harry Krueger from Housemarque in an interview they gave us in Vandal recently, where they assured us that it is a title that will not be possible on PlayStation 4.
A game only possible in the new generation
“Do not, We try very hard to take full advantage of all that PlayStation 5 has to offer.“Haveri answered flatly when we asked if the title could end up reaching the previous Sony console.” Things like the optical feedback or 3D audio I think are wonderful additions to the technical performance of the console itself. I think it would be very difficult to bring exactly this experience to any other platform or generation“.
In fact, talking about the DualSense, Haveri told us that it is a command that he loves and that they have tried to get the most out of, something that he assures that we will notice especially when using adaptive triggers to shoot, offering us very different sensations depending on the weapon we use. Similarly, liver feedback will recreate things like raindrops when they fall on our character, in addition to warning us when we try to use the final shot of a weapon and it is not ready. In his own words, this brings with it “a new way of communicating with the player that goes beyond the visual“.
Going into more technical details, Krueger, the project manager, has confirmed to us that the game will move at 60 frames per second with a resolution of 4K rescaled. “This is an experience with a lot of action, so we want the game to move as smoothly and satisfactorily as possible in every moment,” said Krueger to explain why it has been a top priority for them to reach a stable 60 fps. “Having a solid frame rate is something that affects the fluidity of the action much more than having a high resolution, for example.”
What’s new from Housemarque
As we say, Returnal will launch on April 30 exclusively for PlayStation 5 and will propose a roguelite of action in third person in which we will have to explore a mysterious and dangerous planet full of alien creatures while trying to escape from a time loop in which we are trapped. If you want to know more about him, we encourage you to take a look at the impressions we just published on Vandal.
