TECH Time Thursday – 11 a.m. Thursday. Each Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon, a librarian will be on hand to answer basic questions about your electronic devices, such as iPhones and Android devices, laptops and tablets. Teen Gaming – 3 p.m. Thursday. Ages 12 to 18 are invited to Rodman Public Library every other Thursday to play their favorite video games on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 with Kinect, Playstation 3 & 4, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Wii & WiiU. Visitors will have the opportunity to play a different game each week. Games with ratings from “E” for Everyone, up to”T” for Teen level, will be offered. Along with the video games, the iPad and Nook are available to teens. No registration is required for these free gaming events. For more information, call the library at 330-821-2665, Ext. 214. Used Book Sale – Aug. 7-11 at Alliance Neighborhood Center. The Friends of Rodman Public Library’s annual Used Book Sale will run Aug. 7-11 at the facility at 405 S. Linden Ave. More than 25,000 books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, audiobooks and magazines will be available. Aug. 7 will be a members-only day, with memberships available at the door, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sale will run from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 8; and will run 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug 9-11. On Aug. 11 only, patrons will be able to fill a bag and make a donation all day.
Teen Writing Club – 3:30 p.m. Aug. 11. Creative types can join Rodman Public Library for this club that meets the second and fourth Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. in Computer Lab at the Main Library. Meet fellow teen writers to exchange ideas, hone skills and share your work. If you are unable to meet in person, email rodmaninfo@gmail.com or call 330-821-2665, Ext. 217, and staff will make accommodations to participate in the club virtually.
Chipotle fundraiser – 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16. Friends of Rodman Public Library will benefit from patrons who eat at Chipotle, 1630 E. State St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16. Those wishing to help the Friends of RPL receive 33 percent of the day’s proceeds can bring in a flyer available at the library, show it on their smartphone or simply tell the cashier they want to support the cause. Those ordering online can also enter the code MTV7XF7 before checkout in the “promo” field.
