It was the fourth time RSG SG took on former EVOS SG squad and current Slate members in a best-of-seven Grand Final at the Mobile Legends Professional League Singapore.

Defending champions RSG, who have been unstoppable all season with a 7-0 streak, only dropped two games at the MPL SG S4 Playoffs to Slate, beating them 3-2 to advance to the Grand Final.

Meanwhile Slate Esports, who were formerly EVOS SG, only lost to RSG at the regular season, and managed to give RSG a good fight in the Upper Bracket Final before falling to the Lower Bracket Final.

Slate then easily swept Team Evil 3-0 to book a rematch against RSG.

This time, however, the former EVOS SG squad seemed to have found their mojo, managing to bring the best of 7 series to match point at 3-2 in front of a packed crowd at Our Tampines Hub (and special guest Masagos Zulkifli, Singapore’s Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health and Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC).

However, RSG stayed cool, and dominantly won the next game to tie it for 3-3.

It all came down to one last match, with Slate picking up Cyclops, a mage hero that’s rarely used in competitive play for mid player Basil “Seilah” Ze.

The pick proved disastrous for Slate, as RSG easily stomped them in style, with Yeo “Diablo” Wee Lun making plays with Benedetta to keep Slate down.

The last game of the series was over in 15 minutes, with RSG scoring 15 kills to Slate’s sole 1. RSG’s Diablo also took home the Playoffs MVP.

“It was a team effort, all of us did very well. there were some downs in our games also, but every team has mistakes on their end. We managed to eventually overcome our nemesis in the Grand Final,” said Diablo.

With the victory, RSG will take home the title of being the best MPL team in Singapore, S$30,000 in cash, and the sole slot to the upcoming MLBB M4 World Championship. Meanwhile, Slate will still earn S$15,000 as runner-ups.
