Shin Megami Tensei V was initially revealed for Nintendo Switch during the console’s unveiling event in January 2017. Shin Megami Tensei V has subsequently been declared as a Nintendo Switch exclusive and will not be released on PC, PS4, Xbox One, or any other platform.
However, it’s possible a PC port of SMT V will be announced in the long run. SMT V is the new biggest game from Atlus, which has been expending on PC lately. Most notably with the release of Persona 5 Strikers on Steam. Atlus is also used to releasing enhanced versions of their games with new content. Most of the time adding a new female character voiced by a popular seiyuu and who may or may not add interesting elements to the story.
SMT V’s reputation as a Nintendo Switch exclusive is emphasised by the fact that it was one of the first titles confirmed for the platform before its debut in March 2017. Right now, the Nintendo Switch is the only system on which you can play SMT V.
Moreover, a new GeForce PC leak was shared on Reddit, and spotted by RPG Site. It most notably lists Shin Megami Tensei V for a PC release on February 1, 2022. It’s highly unlikely this is a real release date and more of a placeholder date. The list itself is pretty suspicious too with highly doubtful projects like “Final Fantasy IX Remake” listed. However, it’s possible the list uses remaster and remake interchangeably.
Furthermore, the list also includes several believable projects of ports or remasters for Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, or Chrono Cross. So it’s possible Shin Megami Tensei V will release on PC too in the long run with an enhanced version containing all the DLCs and new content. Probably one year after the Switch release, assuming it’s a one year exclusive.
