Sami-Joe keeps on winning

Another perfect round for Sami-Joe in the eSports WRC Championship presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing has kept the Seventh Gear eSport Club driver on top of the driver standings and his team ahead in the team standings.

On the ninth stop of the 13-stop calendar, the championship moved to the Italian Mediterranean island of Sardinia from 28-31 May for more gravel action.

Lebanese teenager Sami-Joe remained where he has been for the entire season: at the front of the field, winning by nearly three seconds over two-time world champion Nexl. Rounding out the podium once more in third spot was Kriim, creating an identical podium to the previous round in Portugal.

It also means no change in the top-three in the overall standings, but Izamusing (108 points) and Noel (107 points) both remain in touching distance of the third-placed Kriim (116 points).

In the fight for the crucial eighth and final grand final ticket, it currently looks like a three-way fight between seventh-placed Hujda (88 points), eighth-placed Mihalo (84 points) and ninth-placed Kanweex (80 points), with tenth-placed Marvino now six points off the place.

In the teams championship, Sami-Joe’s win was once more positive news for Seventh-Gear eSports Club, who extend their slender lead over Race Clutch to two points, despite Race Clutch being represented by Nexl and Noel in the top five.

Next up, the eSports WRC Championship makes a maiden venture to the African continent for the fan-favourite Safari Rally Kenya from 18-21 June.
