Scarlet Nexus Launches This June For PC, PlayStation & Xbox

Bandai Namco have announced that Scarlet Nexus, their futuristic “brainpunk” RPG will be launching on June 25th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. To celebrate the release date news, there’s a brand new trailer at the top of the page.

What’s Scarlet Nexus About?

Scarlet Nexus sees a human organisation known as the OSF try to protect humanity from the onslaught of The Others, monstrous creatures which periodically rain down from the sky. As either Yuito Sumeragi or Kanase Randall, who was revealed as a playable character today, you’ll use a variety of psychic abilities to battle against the Others, and perhaps even unwrap the conspiracy as to their appearance.

Sounds Rad, Can I Pre-Order The Game?

Pre-orders are live now for Scarlet Nexus, and as you’d expect, there’s a few different editions on offer. All pre-orders will include the following items: Special Battle Attire Set “Audio”, Cosmetic “Dream Catcher”, Cosmetic “Face Vision Seal” and Attachment Set “Baki”.

As for the different versions of the game, the digital-only deluxe version will include a Digital Art Book, the Original Soundtrack, a Special Battle Attire Set called “Red”, a cosmetic item called “The Other” and an SAS Plug-in, whatever that means. Meanwhile, the Guardians Edition, which is exclusive to the Bandai Store, will feature everything in the Deluxe Edition, plus 3 Art Prints, a hardcover Art Book, an OSF Sticker and a steel book.

It’s worth noting that the Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S versions of the game will support Smart Delivery, meaning that if you buy the game on Xbox One, you’ll be able to play the Xbox Series X | S version once you’ve received the new console. We’ve asked Bandai to confirm whether or not the PS4/PS5 versions will offer a similar upgrade path, and will update if they respond.

UPDATE: Bandai have since responded to our email to confirm that the PS4 version of Scarlet Nexus will receive a free PS5 upgrade: “SCARLET NEXUS offers a free PS5 Upgrade – buy the game once and play it on either PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 when both the console and that version of SCARLET NEXUS are available with continued progression.”
