The first Slime Rancher is set to bounce out of Xbox Game Pass shortly after its sequel launches into Early Access later this month.
We have a big list of everything confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in 2022 and 2023 — a list which includes the Early Access launch of Slime Rancher 2 — and we now know of one more title which will be leaving the service. Monomi Park has confirmed to TrueAchievements that the first Slime Rancher is set to leave Xbox Game Pass later this month.
Is Slime Rancher leaving Xbox Game Pass?
A number of players reported that they’d received notifications that Slime Rancher would leave Xbox Game Pass on September 15th — after reaching out to Monomi Park, game director Nick Popovich confirmed to TrueAchievements that this date is an error and that Slime Rancher will in fact leave Xbox Game Pass on September 30th, just over a week after the Early Access launch of Slime Rancher 2 on September 22nd. That means we still have a fair amount of time to finish up with any Slime Rancher achievements.
Meanwhile, since Slime Rancher 2 is launching first into Early Access, it won’t feature achievements at launch, which Popovich says is “so that all our achievements are not tied to the portion of the game we will deliver with the initial launch, but instead be added later when they can pertain to the complete experience we will ultimately develop.”
