Sonic Frontiers Merchandise Suggests Release Date For November

Fans are gearing up for the release of Sonic Frontiers, the title looking to be one of the most ambitious in the franchise. This sees the game taking on the open-world genre, this shift being compared to Nintendo’s genre shift for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There was plenty of news revealed about the game throughout June, including its combat, puzzles, and exploration. This all culminated in a Sonic Frontiers trailer shown off during a Nintendo Direct, which also gave an insight into its story beats and heavily rumored Cyberspace levels.

While initial reception has been mixed, more recent showcases have propped up the game in a somewhat more positive light, such as the aforementioned Nintendo Direct trailer. Despite fan concerns over the early footage, which was from an early build of the game, Sonic Frontiers is still scheduled for 2022 according to Sega, and won’t need a delay. This window seems to be locked in, as indicated by a possible online shop listing suggesting a November release date.

This listing was spotted on a Taiwanese site Shopee, which lists a good deal of merchandise revolving around Sonic Frontiers that points towards a November release. This retailer is currently listing November 15, which lines up with a past PlayStation database leak and a past potential SteamDB leak, which both indicated the release month of November. Not only that, this listing mentions DLC, though there are no specifics about what that entails for the game.

This release date for Sonic Frontiers-related merchandise matches up with a past announcement, with a statue of Sonic and the Kocos, rock-like plant beings that are slated to be an in-game collectible, looking to release during November. Alongside some figures, there are some pieces of promotional art that show off the main cast. This includes Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, where they seem to be protecting the Kocos. Two figures can also be seen in the background, possibly teasing two additional characters to be introduced in this game.

Most of this information is speculation for the time being, however, so it should likewise be taken with a grain of salt. That being said, fans have gotten excited about the game even more, paired with the announcement that Sonic Frontiers will be featured at this year’s Gamescom. There’s the likelihood that fans will be receiving news about the game and its release date during that showcase, especially with Sega’s aforementioned stance of launching it within 2022.

Sonic Frontiers is scheduled to release holiday 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
