SpongeBob Remaster Already Free to Download Through PS Plus

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is available to redeem and download for completely free as part of PlayStation Plus a whole four days early on the PS Store. Originally announced to be hitting the service next Tuesday on 5th April 2022, Sony’s digital marketplace is letting users grab the PS4 remaster much earlier on the UK and EU store. This means you’ll be able to take the game for a spin this weekend if you’ve nothing else to play — as long as you have an active subscription, of course.

On PS5, the title doesn’t appear under the PS Plus icon that’s now tagged to the start of the home screen. Instead, you must search for it on the PS Store. Button through to the store page and you should then see the “Add to Library” option.

If you’re unsure whether to bother with the game, check out our PS4 review, where we awarded the remaster a 7/10. If you do decide to play, we have a handy guide to all the collectibles in the game. At the time of writing, April 2022’s other free PS Plus titles, Slay the Spire and Hood: Outlaws & Legends, aren’t listed as free just yet.
