Squad has released a series of answers to 25 questions that the community asked in a Developer Q&A.
Squad gameplay.
Over 100 questions were asked. Squad answered 25 of these questions, despite initially planning to only answer 15 questions. Their reason for the increase by 10 was that they were trying to accommodate the “terrific response” by the Squad community.
The Q&A was announced in a Twitter post by Squad on 1 November 2021.
A variety of different questions were asked. Some of the key questions are discussed below.
1 question players had was whether Pan Asia will be based on weapons and equipment from the 2000s or from 2020. Squad’s answer was that the weapons and equipment will be an iteration of 2010 Chinese military gear.
Another key question that was asked was whether Squad would be adding incentives for players to stick together and play as a squad. Squad responded by saying that there are plans to incentivize better team play and to encourage players to stick together as a squad. This comes as welcome news to many, as team play is generally more effective in mil-sim games such as Squad.
A third question that’s worth noting is related to why it takes so long for in-game bugs to be fixed. Squad has said that, besides for bug-fixes being a complex task to complete, they also have to balance fixing bugs, releasing new features (and fixing subsequent bugs), and pumping out new content. For this reason, it can sometimes take a while to get a bug fixed.
For those who’ve been waiting for the addition of an Aussie faction to Squad, they have stated that the Aussie faction will be released in about 3 weeks.
A detailed report of the questions and answers can be found on Squad’s news blog.
