Square Enix shares extended Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS5 trailer

Square Enix has published an extended trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade, the PS5 update releasing on June 10.

The extended video offers a better look at some of the changes planned for the new versions, including improved textures, lighting and background environments.

On PS5, players will be able to switch between two game modes; Graphics Mode, which prioritizes 4K high-resolution graphics, and Performance Mode, which prioritizes 60 frames per second action.

Intergrade also features a Photo Mode and haptic feedback via the DualSense controller, and a new episode featuring Yuffie, as she infiltrates the Shinra corporation to steal a powerful materia.

Square Enix announced last month that owners of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS4 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free and transfer their save files.

The PS4 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is currently available as part of March’s free PlayStation Plus games. However, this version will not be eligible for a free upgrade to PS5’s Intergrade.

Alongside Intergrade, Square Enix also announced a battle royale spin-off for Final Fantasy 7, called The First Soldier, and a second mobile game called Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis.

Ever Crisis is a chapter-structured single-player game covering the whole of the FFVII timeline – including the events of the original game and the FFVII compilation titles.
