Stalker 2 Dev Responds To ‘2024-2025’ Delay Rumour On Xbox

A rumour of another delay to GSC Game World’s Stalker 2 has been floating around lately, originating from Russian source iXBT Games. The claim was that release targets had been pushed all the way back to “2024-2025”, however, the developer has now responded, refuting those claims.

Gaming site AltChar contacted the team for comment on the rumour, and GSC Game World responded. The developer reassured fans that the game is still on course for a 2023 release, as announced at Xbox’s Extended summer showcase earlier this year.

Members of the development team have also cropped up in Discord channels since the rumour began gaining traction, again stating that 2023 is the “actual release date” for Stalker 2 on Xbox Series X and S.

For now then, the game appears to be on track for release next year, and here’s hoping it makes it! GSC’s much-anticipated Stalker sequel is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one, as a timed console exclusive.
