Stanly varsity football games moved to Thursday

The three home varsity football games scheduled for this Friday night opening conference play have been moved to Thursday.

Athletic directors confirmed to The Stanly News & Press that because of the threat of heavy rains from Hurricane Ian, which currently will make landfall in northern Florida Wednesday.

The three games moving to Thursday are Albemarle hosting Jay M. Robinson, North Stanly at home against Union Academy and South Stanly hosting Mount Pleasant. Kickoff for the games will be at 7:30 p.m.
