Stardew Valley Creator Gives Small Update on Mobile 1.5 and More

Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe has offered fans a small update on the order they can expect the next two updates to arrive. Stardew Valley is a critically-acclaimed, award-winning farm simulation game that first launched in 2016. Since its initial release, Stardew Valley has been ported to various consoles and has received numerous updates. Stardew Valley 1.6 is the next big update coming to PC and consoles, while those playing the mobile version are still waiting for update 1.5.

Stardew Valley update 1.5 is a rather significant update for the farm simulation game, as it adds Ginger Island to the experience, giving fans even more to do and see. Ginger Island features new NPCs, treasures, and more for Stardew Valley players to check out, and so it’s no surprise that those playing the mobile version have been anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Unfortunately, ConcernedApe can’t offer a release window for either Stardew Valley update, saying that they will come out when they’re done. However, it was clarified that Stardew Valley mobile will get update 1.5 before update 1.6 comes out for the other versions of the game. So while fans don’t know exactly when these updates will be available, they do know that the mobile version will be getting the long-awaited update 1.5 first.

Stardew Valley update 1.5 is going to be a big deal for mobile gamers when it comes out, though fans of the PC and console versions of the game may be less interested in update 1.6. Stardew Valley update 1.6 is not expected to add anything all that significant to the game, certainly nothing on the level of Ginger Island. Previously, ConcernedApe indicated that update 1.6 would mostly focus on making it easier for modders to mod the game. There will be “some new content,” but what exactly that is remains to be seen. ConcernedApe hasn’t ruled out another Stardew Valley update beyond 1.6, responding with “Who knows,” when a fan on Twitter asked about the possibility of 1.7.

Stardew Valley fans have plenty to keep them busy in the game as it is, but new content could potentially bring back lapsed players who have since moved on to other games. However, some dedicated Stardew Valley fans who have already put hundreds of hours into their farms may be more interested in a brand-new experience from ConcernedApe. ConcernedApe’s next game is Haunted Chocolatier, and while details on it remain relatively scarce at the time of this writing, it does look like something that will greatly appeal to Stardew Valley fans.

Stardew Valley is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, mobile, and legacy devices.
