Mages appears to be teasing something new for the Science Adventure franchise’s Steins;Gate series, with an announcement possibly coming on March 17, 2021. The news comes from the official Science Adventure franchise Twitter account.
Here’s the teaser tweet:
??????”0.210317%”
??????????????#???? pic.twitter.com/MMUKTq4m94— ??ADV?? #????10?? (@kagakuadv) March 11, 2021
World Line divergence “0.210317%”
The story will be “reborn”
#SteinsGate
The tweet’s image also shows a set of Nixie tubes, much like the Divergence Meter device we’ve seen in Steins;Gate. In Steins;Gate, the device is used to determine the “Divergence Value” of the World Line. Think of it as a device that gives a numerical value to the particular timeline you’re in or something like that. The tweet plays it off as a percentage for a possible change in World Line, but if you look at it as a date, it reads March 17, 2021.
Mages hasn’t provided any other hints or details about the Steins;Gate teaser, but we’ll find out more in the possible announcement next week. The company previously teased a new title called “Steins;????” (or Steins;____), but we haven’t heard anything about it since then. The new title will be the fifth main entry in the Science Adventure games, and according to Mages, it will be like what Chaos;Child is to Chaos;Head.
Steins;Gate was originally released for Xbox 360 in Japan in October 2009. A remake titled Steins;Gate Elite featuring scenes from the anime is available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and PC. A follow-up title, Steins;Gate 0, is also available on Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
