Minecraft will be rolling out a new update in 2023, currently known as the “1.20 update”. This update is still taking shape and Mojang says the community will be involved in the naming process and more. Here’s a brief rundown of what was showcased during this segment of Minecraft Live 2022:
New playable avatars
Steve and Alex will be joined by a whole new range of characters, here’s a look:
New Item: Hanging Sign
New Wood Set: Bamboo
In addition to the new wood block set Bamboo, players will also be able to use this wood to craft a bamboo raft.
New Block: Chiseled Bookshelf
New Mob: Camel
“Roadtrip! This tall, rideable mob has space for you and a friend. Camels are found in desert villages, but locating a friend is up to you!”
The 1.20 beta/snapshot/preview update will be made available to Minecraft users in just a few days, with the full update launching in 2023.
