Developer Sonzai Games and publisher X Plus are bringing Super Sami Roll to the Switch very soon. In fact, it will arrive later this week, on November 4th. You’ll be able to nab it for $14.99 in the Nintendo Switch eShop. The game previously jumped onto Steam earlier this summer, back in July.
Sami can roll, jump, and grapple with his tongue to navigate the game’s 3D levels. His friend Vera has been kidnapped by the terrible Albert VII! Naturally, Sami must roll into action to save her, but plenty of obstacles block his way. You’ll need to navigate green fields, oozing volcanoes, desert pyramids, snowy ice lands, and more to save her. As there is no Super Sami Roll Switch trailer yet, here is the original launch trailer.
The game features pixel art world maps and is loaded with secrets. These include character customization, the soundtrack, and new game modes, one of which is multiplayer. Super Sami Roll has “dozens upon dozens” of vibrant, color-filled levels. The challenge level will progressively ramp up as your adventure unfolds. The developers describe it as “Progressive difficulty that’s been fine-tuned to keep you engaged until you become a true master!”
Super Sami Roll looks rather reminiscent of some classic platformers, making it right at home on Nintendo’s hybrid console. If you’d like to delve into a deeper look at the game, check out our review of the Steam version.
