Riot Games revealed the four groups for Worlds 2022 during the draw show right after the conclusion of the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2022 Championship. The group stage of the tournament follows the opening stage of play-in from where four teams join these four groups at the Worlds 2022 Group Stage. With regions across the globe having finished their respective summer splits, the draw show determined the groups for the main event. A total of 12 teams (auto-qualified) were grouped into four groups of three and four teams will join this stage after the completion of the play-in. When the Worlds 2022 Group Stage kicks off, 16 teams will be in contention for the trophy.

A guide to Worlds 2022 Group Stage
Twelve teams directly qualified for the main event of Worlds 2022 by performing incredibly well in their respective summer splits. Four more teams will join them by making it out of the play-in and be seeded into the four groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage of the competition.

The official schedule for Worlds 2022 Group Stage has not been made available yet. However, the Worlds 2022 Play-in begins on 29th September and will conclude on 4th October. The Group Stage will start on 7th October and will conclude on 16th October right in time for the knockouts.
