Tekken 7 Has Sold 9 Million Copies Worldwide

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that Tekken 7 has sold over nine million copies worldwide.

The announcement comes just one day before the game celebrates its fifth anniversary on consoles, having launch on June 2, 2017 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Tekken 7 is now officially the best-selling game in the series, beating previous record holder Tekken 3, which has sold 8.36 million copies.

Tekken 7’s main storyline focuses on the on-going Mishima family feud between Kazuya and Heihachi, with Street Fighter’s Akuma also involved in the narrative as a guest character. We’re also introduced to Kazumi Mishima, Heihachi’s long-deceased wife, who still plays a vital role in the story.

Bandai Namco Games has supported Tekken 7 for the past five years with robust post-launch content, which has included four seasons featuring new characters, stages, costumes, and more. The game has also had a big presence on the competitive scene thanks to the Tekken World Tour.
