Is Dragon Ball: The Breakers free to play? Citizens and Raiders have been having a ‘raging blast’ during the game’s open and closed beta, but will they have to pay for the full release?
Bandai Namco has been surprisingly involved and ready to act on player feedback for the live service survival game, but surely they can just keep it going for free?
For once we won’t be playing through the events of the Dragon Ball franchise, so that means no Goku, Vegeta or Piccollo. But that does mean the franchise gets a breath of fresh air gameplay-wise.
Is Dragon Ball: The Breakers Free To Play?
Whilst the open and closed Betas of Dragon Ball: The Breakers have been free to play, the full-fat release will have to be purchased on all platforms.
The good news is that the standard edition is priced quite low, which means players can join in the fun for less than £20/$20/€20.
There’s a special edition launching alongside the standard edition on all platforms also that costs just under £25/$30/€30 and come with some nice cosmetics and items depending on where they’re bought from.
Regardless of whether it is free to play or not, there’s certainly enough content and horsepower in there to splash out less than half the price of a full-fat game release. There’s certainly been a great reception for it so far, let’s hope this extends into the full game release.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers will be available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Steam.
