The Callisto Protocol playtime fleshed out with hidden “beta paths”

The Callisto Protocol brings its gory survival-horror to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in December, and now, Striking Distance Studios’ Glen Schofield has revealed how long it will take to beat the game and its replayability.

In a new interview with Edge (thanks, MP1st), Striking Distance Studios boss Glen Schofield detailed how long it will take to beat The Callisto Protocol, revealing that its overall playtime can be fleshed out with “beta paths.”

The Callisto Protocol will take between 12 and 14 hours to beat

According to Schofield, The Callisto Protocol will take between 12 and 14 hours to finish, though there are well-hidden “beta paths” that could extend that playtime and add replay value outside of just maxing out your weapons and grinding for upgrades. “[The beta paths] came later in the game, but some of them are so freaking cool,” Schofield says. “We don’t tell you where they are or how many they are, but if you really explore, it may be longer.”

Schofield hopes that the different paths will encourage conversations between players who ended up taking different routes to the end of the game.

Back in September, Striking Distance Studios revealed to us that The Callisto Protocol had been left “expandable” for DLC and modes, so more content may be added in the future. We also learned more about The Callisto Protocol achievements, its realistic gore, and how The Callisto Protocol isn’t a fit for Xbox Game Pass.

We don’t have them yet, but we’ll publish a story as soon as we pick up the The Callisto Protocol achievements.
