The Digital CCG Comes to Nintendo Switch This Summer in SHADOWVERSE: CHAMPION’S BATTLE — GeekTyrant

Shadowverse is a pretty solid digital CCG available on mobile devices and PC. It has spawned an anime series and now XSEED Games and Cygames are releasing a new game on the Nintendo Switch called Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle. The upcoming game is based on the anime series with a narrative experience where players serve as a transfer student to Tensei Academy and you have to win the national championship to save the Shadowverse club.

In Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle, players take the role of a transfer student to Tensei Academy, where they are quickly introduced to the Shadowverse card game by their classmate, Hiro Ryugasaki. The new friends team up with Shadowverse club president (and only member) Rei on a quest to master the popular card battle game and restore the club to its former glory by winning the national championship. Throughout their adventures, players will be able to explore unique locations around the school and surrounding town, where events and encounters await in the least expected places. Team up with new friends, battle to become the national champions, and save the Shadowverse Club for future generations!

As far as gameplay goes, the game is said to feature a reimagined version of the mobile game. You’ll collect cards, build powerful decks, and defeat opponents. You’ll be able to play in the campaign mode by yourself or go online for multiplayer matches. There will even be a Battle Pass system that will grant you leader skin rewards and other in-game bonuses. One advantage the Switch offers over the original game is the addition of deluxe battle animations.

Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle is set to launch this Summer digitally and at retail. Anyone who purchases the game will get a promo code that can be used in the mobile/PC game to get 10 seer’s globe, cosmetic items, and alternate art cards. Are you excited for this new opportunity to play the hit CCG?
