The Last Worker, originally set for an October 2022 release date, won’t be arriving until the first quarter of 2023.
It’s a bit of shame because we were looking forward to playing this narrative adventure. Set in a futuristic Amazon-style warehouse, we got our hands on The Last Worker back in June and came away impressed. “This is a game that’s clearly had a lot of heart and soul poured into it, and we can’t wait to unpack more of it,” we said.
We were even going to replay it in the run up to Christmas. Our plan was to tut at the i-game Jüngle corporation’s shoddy ethics and then order half our Christmas supplies from Amazon. But we’ve had to put that shocking display of hypocrisy on hold.
According to developer Wolf & Wood and publisher Wired Productions, the delay is because the team has “..decided to honour the vision for The Last Worker do so in a humane manner.” In other words, they’ve pushed the release date back instead of crunching till they’re hollow shells.

The good news is the new Q1 2023 release date will allow for a simultaneous multi-platform release. Originally it was just the PC version that was set for an October release. But now it’ll hit PC/PCVR (via Steam), PlayStation 5, , Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Meta Quest 2. And, while Wolf & Wood hasn’t confirmed anything, the company has teased a possible PSVR 2 release.
Hopefully it’ll be worth the wait. At least Wolf & Wood’s employees will have a piss-bottle free Christmas, unlike some other workers we could mention.
