The Spanish publishing house Hroes de Papel has announced that Pre-orders are now open for The Nintendo Story, Vol. 4 (1989-1999): The Amazing Story of the Game Boy, which also rewards with the gift a page marker and the fourth installment of the Hanafuda deck of cards – limited units -. It is the fourth volume, prepared by Florent Gorges, with documentation, research, anecdotes and interviews with the creators of the Nintendo portable console that celebrated 30 years in 2019. It will go on sale in Spain on May 12.

“The legendary range of consoles reaped, since 1989, a stunning worldwide success, with 200 million units sold. The Game Boy revolutionized the entertainment and video game industry. This book, fruit of several years of research and originally published in France, it reconstructs its astonishing history with hitherto unknown details, “says the editor, who also promises a new edition of The Nintendo Story, vol.1 and vol.2.

His actor

Florent Gorges has been a translator and interpreter for the Japanese government and was a permanent correspondent for several specialized video game magazines. This allowed him investigate the history of Nintendo and in particular about the life of Gunpei Yokoi, creator of the Game Boy and Nintendo Game & Watch. In 2006 he joined Nintendo Dream magazine as a European correspondent and in 2007 he founded Pixn Love publishing house with Marc Ptronille and Sbastien Mirc. Gorges currently runs his own specialty publishing house, Omak Books.

Hroes de Papel is a publisher specialized in popular culture and the world of video games. Some of his most recent books are Requiem for the final boss, an anthology on music and video games, Praise the sun! dedicated to the Souls saga by FromSoftware and the design of Hidetaka Miyazaki.
