A credible insider claimed that PS5 Pro and upgraded Xbox Series X dev kits (or whatever the rumored mid-gen upgrades will be called) should be in developer hands at the latest beginning of next year at the least, if they don’t already have them by now. Tez2, who’s most notorious for his accurate rockstar Games leaks, responded to a poster in the GTA Forums saying that GTA 6 could launch alongside mid-gen hardware upgrades.
The PS5 Pro was rumored for a long time.
The upgraded PS5 not to be confused with the newly-leaked PS5 with a detachable disc drive that will rival the current console, is rumored since 2021. I haven’t seen the company from this year. AMD did not mention that it was only a developer of a second-gen sonic unit. On the following day, TCL presented a presentation to the company that said it expects the PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrade to be released in 2023/24.
At least one hardware upgrade, the DualSense Edge, is already on hold for an open release in 2023. While it’s not clear whether PS5 Pro will accompany them, it remains to be seen. Tez2believes that the new dev kits will soon be on the way to game studios.
