EA has announced today that the base game of The Sims 4 will be going free-to-play across all platforms beginning on October 18th, including Xbox One, Series X and Series S. Just download it, and you’ll be able to play for free!
Plus, if you’re a subscriber to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you’ll be getting The Sims 4 Get To Work Expansion Pack as part of a special “EA Play Edition” on the same day, while everyone who actually buys The Sims 4 until October 17th will also receive the Desert Luxe Kit as a thank you from EA.
Moving forward, EA says its team is “more dedicated than ever” to continue “developing new and meaningful The Sims 4 experiences for our players”, with more information to be revealed in a special stream on October 18th.
“With The Sims 4 going free to play, our team is more dedicated than ever to developing new and meaningful The Sims 4 experiences for our players and we will continue to develop and release packs, kits and Sims Delivery Express drops into the foreseeable future.”
